In this newly created Business Development Manager role, no day will look the same. With responsibility for the new acquisition of Multi-Channel Retail Partners (£5m Turnover+), as well as managing key event driven projects.
Working closely with the Head of Sales and the UK Sales Manager on key strategic accounts however more importantly under your own initiative to build a steady pipeline of new wholesale business.
You will have amazing people skills and build effective relationships; you must be able to engage customers and excite them about our vision.
Experience in some or all the following preferred – Sales, Buying, Project Management, Wholesale/Retail/eCommerce knowledge, Gifting/Souvenir Marketplace
Main responsibilities:
- Creating a rolling commercial customer acquisition plan.
- Identifying target customers/buyers, contacting them, and pitching our products in the right way at the right level.
- Creating and presenting marketing materials/processes to support your plan.
- Converting leads into sales, sometimes with complex/drawn out negotiations.
- Identifying and assessing customer’s needs and market trends and fitting our products to them.
- Identifying short- and long-term growth opportunities within your territory.
- Project management of marketing activations.
- Project management of concession launches.
- Liaising with key internal departments at all levels.
- CRM database management.
Experiences sought:
- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively.
- Thorough understanding of key KPI’s – sales, margin, budgets, targets, and ability to transfer this knowledge into simple, key actions.
- Experience of buying/selling wholesale products to large retailers.
- Experience in managing projects to budget.
- Confident sales and presentation style.
- Strong track record of closing deals and meeting targets.
- Account Management experience desirable.
- Hands on and can-do approach to working in a busy, growing environment.
- Excellent written and reporting skills.
- Full driving license.
