Digital Marketing Manager

As Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping to define, shape and execute the digital strategy: driving material improvements in the growth and performance of our key ecommerce platforms, and continually improving the customer experience across- and through- our key digital products.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, but working cross-functionally across our matrixed teams, you’ll take full ownership of our primary B2C ecommerce platform, managing the day-to-day performance and functionality for both internal and external users. Working closely with our Marketing and our Commercial teams, you’ll also define and manage the development roadmap, based on a deep understanding of the needs of both internal business stakeholders and the customer. 

Ideal Experience

Websites and ecommerce
  • Own and manage the digital experience of our B2C e-commerce site, and associated dataflows and integrations.
  • Maintain a product roadmap based on data/analytics, customer feedback, competition and stakeholder input.
  • Manage external vendors and work with internal Product Owner to deliver key development releases from the roadmap, as well as a cycle of ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Define and execute our SEO strategy to improve organic growth
  • Own and manage our additional website portfolio, and lead the redevelopment of two key sites these (with and through external partners) during 2021.
  • Perform ongoing and in-depth performance reviews developing recommendations for growth and improvement of SEO performance
 
Customer Portals and Native Apps
  • Own the front-end and UI for our key customer portal and native app platforms.
  • Work with our systems Product Owner to manage development priorities.
 
Email platform and marketing automation
  • Own the data integrations between our websites and our key email marketing platforms, ensuring full data compliance and ongoing hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Assist our marketing leads with defining and executing marketing automation programmes.
  • Work with segment marketing managers to lead design and delivery of campaigns to generate, qualify, nurture and convert leads. Help guide the marketing team to optimize existing campaigns with ongoing tests of customer segmentation, subject lines, time of send, content, landing pages, etc.
 
Reporting and KPIs
  • Help define, measure and track relevant KPIs to assess and measure performance across all of the above, primarily through Google Analytics.
  • Work with Business Analytics team to create and refine reports and visualisations of data, primarily through Tableau. Define dashboards to display key insights and performance across commercial and customer metrics and KPIs.
  • Oversee and manage a budget – tracking all expenditure, to ensure processes are cost-effective.

General
  • Line management of 1 x Digital Marketing Specialist
 
Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated track record of:
    • managing all aspects of successful digital product delivery, from initial idea through to wireframes, stakeholder inputs, and final delivery. Be prepared to provide examples.
    • interpreting and responding to key Google Analytics metrics to inform changes and increase performance. Google certification strongly preferred.
    • Understanding and implementing digital best practices for responsive/mobile content, content strategy, A/B testing, and personalisation
    • An excellent project management skillset. Experience with agile delivery methodologies and working in scrum delivery teams highly desirable.
    • Good commercial acumen. Numerate, and able to manage budgets and forecasts to appraise ROI
    • Managing internal and external development resources
    • Experience in SEO, SEM.
  • Strong technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in B2C ecommerce platforms – ideally WooCommerce and/or Magento.
  • Knowledge or understanding of UX/usability/accessibility principles
  • Knowledge and experience of web, mobile web, and mobile applications
  • Experience with website CMS (Wordpress, Drupal and Umbraco preferred)
  • People Management experience
 
Desirable:
  • Experience with Mailchimp and/or Eloqua email marketing platforms
  • Experience working in a Matrix environment strongly preferred
  • Design tools expertise, including Adobe products (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign)
