Our client is looking for an Account Director to join the team of an industry leading Marketing Agency based on the edge of Chippenham. This is a rare opportunity (1st time in 8 years) which gives an idea of how enjoyable and rewarding this role can be for the right candidate.

The opportunity is to work in a sector where clients are true partners with the agency, many clients have worked with them for over 10 years. You can be assured of a role that makes a difference, is fast paced and personally very rewarding.
As Account Director, you will lead and manage a client retention strategy and promote growth through continued service excellence. You will ensure the agency meets its overall sales and margin targets and is continued to be perceived as a market leader in their field.
You will lead and manage a team of Account Managers and Account Executives, developing the team to give clients a proactive and highly efficient service which contributes to the success of our client campaigns.
The role is to complement our existing Account Director team. The successful candidate will be required to take an analytical and strategic approach to driving improvements in client campaigns as well as identifying genuine opportunities to cross sell additional services.
Key responsibilities
- You will be the organisational owner of your clients, the ‘go to’, the trouble shooter and the strategic lead to support with brief, delivery, and analysis
- Promote client retention and growth by ensuring delivery against client expectations
- Help to maximise cross selling opportunities
- Line management of your team to ensure clients receive a proactive high quality Account Management service
- Ensure client work is briefed & scheduled on time to ensure internal departments can achieve optimal service delivery for clients
- Through regular staff briefings, training, support, and development of teams and individuals, you will maintain a high level of team well-being
- Develop positive working relationships between your team and the internal service delivery departments within the client.
To be considered…
You will have demonstrable client facing experience and good team management skills. We are looking for a warm, friendly but professional personality with the appropriate level of gravitas for this key role. You will be an experienced presenter with sound analysis skills. A high level of numeracy and literacy with a forensic eye for detail will be expected.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - able to converse comfortably with all levels of staff and clients, including over the telephone and face to face
- Client-orientated with a clear understanding of the business environment and the Company’s goals
- Strong Leadership skills to lead and manage Account Management teams
- Good delegation skills whilst maintaining a good overall picture across your clients
- Accustomed to multi-tasking, working to deadlines, and effectively prioritising work with
- Strong organisation and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer literacy
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Reliable, organised, self-starter who consistently meets deadlines
- Ability to remain calm and measured in pressurised situations
