- Description
- We have a fantastic opportunity for an e-commerce professional with experience of online merchandising to play a key role in digital side of our direct marketing business.
The Online Product Merchandiser’s responsibilities include the management and execution of the marketing plans in line with our catalogue schedule and ensuring that the online range is relevant, and correctly merchandised. Working for this multi-brand business, you will also take responsibility for driving use of our online search and merchandising tool across all brands, ensuring that new functionality is implemented, and incremental sales are measured.
Key Objectives
- To build and maintain the category taxonomy, taking action to reduce friction and improve the overall user experience for customers shopping the site
- Ensuring each product detail page is content rich with accurate features, optimised product descriptions and multiple high-quality images
- Using the search & merch tool, improve on-site search using synonyms, mis-spells, redirects and apply ranking factors to promote lines
- Identify product opportunities and liaise with commercial operations to include in NPI
- Management of the day to day running of the website, ensuring all products and assets are up to date
- Understand the catalogue campaign schedule, and reflect the company marketing calendar online
- Use data analysis tools to generate reports and understand online behaviour, identifying trading opportunities and deriving online trading plans and marketing content
- Ensure content is in line with catalogues, promotions are correctly set-up and homepages reflect both the company marketing calendar and online performance
- On-board new lines, ensuring optimisation, placement, and presentation of products across the website
- Ensure products are easily discoverable by managing the website navigational categories and online search functionality
- Liaise with internal teams (Catalogue production, commercial teams, and the wider e-Commerce team) to resolve queries on website content
- Manage seasonal updates, ensuring all content is prepared and any additional imagery required is briefed and sourced
- A graduate or equivalent educational level
- Minimum 3 years e-Commerce experience in a merchandising or trading capacity
- Customer first approach to all actions and recommendations made throughout the purchase funnel
- Able to interpret detailed data and present to the wider business
- High attention to detail
- Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and be prepared to do what is needed to get the job done
- Be organised and able to demonstrate experience of prioritising and managing tasks to tight deadlines
- Basic html skills an advantage
- Ability to use Photoshop and/or In Design at a basic level is an advantage
