As a Design Lead you’ll lead design to create thought-provoking creative campaigns that span all platforms. Using your creative and anlalytical thinking skills you will help elevate the work from receiving the initial brief from client, to end execution.
You will be able drive excitement and engage with brand messaging, ensuring that work meets / elevates beyond the initial brief
You’re portfolio will reflect the ability to create / lead beautiful design, with flair and passion that spans print and digital media. Strong typography, web, illustration and animation skills to boot.
Being confident in your design decisions and capable of articulating your creative decision-making when needed is a must.
Given the seniority of the role, you will have account ownership of a range of clients. Leading quarterly creative design reviews with the wider business teams, understanding what the brands represent, setting goals to elevate design across the accounts.Knowing brand guidelines is not enough. Being able to work within, advocate and push brand guidelines whilst ensuring work captivates the viewer is key. In turn this will also help to work towards your longer design vision for the account.
Overview
- A solid knowledge of Design processes and methodologies
- Best practice in digital principles (including digital conversation practices) and innovation
- The role of user research, strategic insights and how this can impact design on a commercial and visual direction
- Ability to multi-task, at times managing multiple project teams, and stay organised to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects.
- Drive and motivation to achieve excellence in themselves and others, whilst balancing the practicalities of agency life
- Ability to construct presentations to sell your vision, and articulate it simply for internal stakeholders or clients
- A belief in risk-taking design, always pushing beyond the expected solution, and making something you would love to use
- A passion and desire to produce the best experience for a user no matter the channel or device, and a commitment to ensure it’s achieved throughout the project life cycle
- 6-12 month PDRs for your fellow design team
- Costing of design time for both short term and long term projects
- Consider existing and future design workflow processes so the department works to an optimal level alongside online studio
- A master of your craft: Software knowledge covering full Adobe Suite (experience in motion an advantage), Sketch / XD / Figma
You need to have..
- A solid track record of working for established clients, you are able to share your experiences and knowledge to help support other members of the team and drive forward the creative process. Overseeing and inspiring fellow designers as well as managing their future progression and skills.
- A strong, positive mindset, who isn’t afraid to make hard decisions. A mindset that also embraces failure but doen’t allow it to get in the way.
- A natural leader who can inspire the team.
- A forward thinker who is keen to explore and learn new creative approaches or processes, both internally and externally with client.
- Be engaging and positive – someone that people naturally gravitate to and want to work with.
- Not just knowing whats on trend, but knowing how this can be adopted for clients and there brand.
- As a design lead you will be heavy involved in new business. Leading a team, understanding the requirements of the wider business whilst guiding your team to creating visually beautiful work.
