Description

Paid Search & Digital Analytics Lead

£55,000 + benefits + Bonus + Hybrid working

If you’re equally comfortable inside Google Ads and GA4, and you like understanding not just what is performing but why, this is a role with plenty to get your teeth into.

We’re looking for an experienced Paid Search & Digital Analytics Lead to take ownership of paid search strategy alongside the tracking, measurement and insight that sits behind digital performance.

This isn’t simply a PPC management role.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape how campaigns are structured, how performance is measured, where budget is invested and how digital data is turned into commercially useful decisions.

It’s a senior, hands-on specialist position with real influence across the wider digital operation.

The opportunity

You’ll become the technical go-to for paid search and digital analytics, setting the strategy and frameworks that allow campaigns to perform and performance to be measured properly.

Your remit will include:

  • Owning paid search strategy across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
  • Shaping account structures, keyword strategies, audiences and bidding approaches
  • Leading Search, Performance Max and Demand Gen strategy
  • Creating campaign frameworks and technical briefs for digital teams to execute
  • Monitoring performance against CPA, ROI, revenue and lead generation
  • Identifying wasted spend and opportunities to improve efficiency and scale
  • Supporting budget planning, forecasting and investment decisions
  • Owning the digital measurement approach across campaigns and customer journeys
  • Ensuring conversion tracking and attribution are accurate and commercially meaningful
  • Developing measurement frameworks, tracking plans and reporting standards
  • Working with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio and BigQuery
  • Overseeing conversion tracking across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
  • Connecting digital activity with CRM and offline conversion outcomes
  • Troubleshooting tracking, attribution and data-quality issues
  • Leading experimentation across landing pages, ad copy, audiences and bidding strategies
  • Exploring new automation, AI, advertising and measurement capabilities

About you

You’re likely to come from a paid search, performance marketing or digital analytics background and have developed strong technical knowledge alongside a commercial mindset.

You won’t just report numbers. You’ll be able to diagnose what’s happening, explain why it matters and recommend what should happen next.

We’d love to see:

  • Significant hands-on Google Ads experience
  • Strong knowledge of Search, Performance Max and Demand Gen
  • Experience with Microsoft Ads
  • Advanced knowledge of GA4
  • Strong experience with Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking
  • A solid understanding of attribution and the wider customer journey
  • Experience creating dashboards and reporting through Looker Studio
  • Confidence working with BigQuery and larger datasets
  • Strong commercial understanding of CPA, ROI, revenue and budget optimisation
  • Experience developing keyword, audience and automated bidding strategies
  • The ability to turn complex performance data into clear commercial recommendations
  • Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience with SQL, server-side tagging, data feeds, CDPs, data warehousing or incrementality testing would be a bonus rather than the reason not to apply.

Why make the move?

Because this is much broader than being responsible for a PPC account.

You’ll have the scope to influence the complete performance picture – from search strategy and budget allocation through to tracking, attribution, analytics and experimentation.

You’ll be trusted to challenge what the data is saying, identify where performance can improve and help create a more sophisticated approach to digital acquisition and measurement.

For someone who enjoys the intersection between paid media, data and commercial performance, there’s a lot of scope to make an impact.

If you’re currently working as a Paid Search Lead, PPC Lead, Performance Marketing Manager, Digital Analytics Lead or Senior Paid Search Manager and want a role with greater technical and strategic ownership, we’d be keen to talk.
