- Description
- The technical SEO will build, maintain and own the overall structured health of the site.
If you like getting your hands dirty with disavows, you know your 301’s from your 302’s, and you have the next Google core update marked clearly in your calendar, we want to hear from you.
Key Objectives
Optimise the infrastructure of the site, enabling optimum crawl depth and budget, site speed improvements, and the deployment of all critical elements in line with Google core web vitals.
Specific Responsibilities
- Be an advanced user of the web platform, offering training and support to users where required
- With a mobile first approach, consider all devices and UX when making changes to the site
- Develop, implement and maintain XML sitemaps, robots.txt files and disavows
- Take ownership of temporary and permanent redirects and redirect chains, ensuring up to date and accurate
- Manage licenses and access to e-commerce programs and reporting tools
- Develop, maintain, and manage relationships with third party organisations to assist in the execution of Google best practises
- Measure and report on system developments and subsequent results
- Be the go-to person for image alt text guidance, canonical tag recommendations, schema mark-up support and other expert advice for the wider e-Commerce team
- Using Google Analytics and other performance measurement tools to monitor performance of the site and take swift action on areas that have quick wins or that could penalise us
Candidate Specification
- Minimum 3 years e-Commerce experience in a web development or technical role
- Excellent understanding of SEO principles and Google core web vitals
- Expert user of Google Search Console
- Advanced user of Google Analytics
- Proficient user of html (CSS & Javascript advantageous)
- Able to confidently communicate complex information with internal stakeholders in a language that they understand
- Project management experience and comfortable working to tight deadlines
- High attention to detail
- Has a positive ‘can do’ attitude and be prepared to do what is needed to get the job done
- Is of a positive nature and cultivates a buzz about e-commerce successes
